Khais is handwoven by our skillful weavers using the traditional wooden pit loom.
The authentic handloom Khais is made with geometric patterns using twill or plain weave consisting of small repeating patterns, usually a diamond, a triangle, or a polyhedron enclosed within a square in bright colors.
Traditional Khais is made out of pure cotton and dates back to the Mughal era. Khais is an integral part of the Punjab and Sindh village crafts and the weaving technique was handed down by the elder women in the family to the younger ones to ensure the tradition did not die out and the next generation can carry it forth. Khais holds cultural significance as these were exclusively made in each household for their daughter’s trousseau.
