HAND WOVEN SHAWLS & STOLES
Our hand made shawls are weaved by the women’s co-operativebased in the foothills of the Swat Valley also known as the ‘ Weaver’s village” . The shawl making involves a complex hand weaving process dating back to 400 years. The small cottage industry trains Veteran artists from local communities make use of traditional handlooms and hand weaving and embroidery techniques to create local motifs and designs on these beautiful shawls. Your purchase not only helps keep this ancient weaving form relevant it also provides a livelihood and economically empowers the artisans in this region and preserve the local Heritage of this community.Each shawl is hand spun using locally sourced wool from sheep and yaks and woven on traditional framed hand looms and adorned with hand embroidery .Our beautiful shawls are hand made individually therefore there might be slight variations between each one making them special and unique.
